Manga Neon Genesis Evangelion

I only just realized there was also a manga version. Compared with the anime, the character portrayal in the manga feels more delicate and grounded, especially the relationship between Shinji and Rei. Their relationship is handled really well, and the hand-holding scene in particular left a strong impression on me; I do not think that part was in the anime. Personally, I prefer the manga version. I also like the manga ending the most, whereas I did not fully understand the anime ending the first time I watched it.
